Niara is a recent graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she majored in Political Science. During her time in Atlanta, Niara worked with students in an after school setting, with a focus on menotring and empowering students to be bold and brave while navigating society. Hailing from the Northside of Minneapolis, Niara has always had a passion for uplifting her community and embracing positive solutions to combat poverty and violence. She is looking forwrd to her year as a VISTA right in her own community, doing the necessary work to influence young women to find power within themselves to create change in their world.
